The Regional Land Use and Transportation Plan is the overarching policy document for the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County. The plan was adopted in 2001 and ratified by the citizens in 2002. Arizona state law requires it be updated every 10 years -- 2011/2012. The process of updating the Regional Plan is expected to take 36 months and will require extensive community outreach. The Regional Transportation Plan or RTP is being produced by the Flagstaff Metropolitan Planning Organization and its member agencies: The City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, and the Arizona Department of Transportation. The RTP will prioritize how tax dollars should be spent on highway, street, bicycle, pedestrian and transit projects. It will also help shape those projects to best fit the neighborhoods they serve. To do this the Flagstaff MPO will rely heavily on input from citizens, stakeholders and visitors to our region through the Spring of 2009.
